Finnish people often say; in order to see the accuracy of societal observance exhibited in Kaurismäki films, a Finn must first come back to their homeland after being away a good while. — It’s obvious the filmmaker has a unique style that is not only attributed to his individual self, but to the peculiar and beautiful Northern European country he comes from as well.
